Adam's Volvo 480 Site
Hi everyone. Welcome to my website about my Volvo 480's
I have long been a big fan of the Volvo 480 ever since my elder brother bought his G reg ES in 1993. And now I have the pleasure of driving the most beautiful car Volvo have ever made.

For anyone who has just stumbled upon my site let me tell you about the 480. The Volvo 480 was designed and built in the mid 80s. The first 480s left the factory in 1986 and production did not stop until 1995. The 480 was a very unique car, highly styled, robust and technologically advanced. As with all vehicles technologically ahead of their time the 480 was prone to electrical errors but as the years passes the systems and engines became more advanced, introducing the 480 Turbo and the 2 litre.
I am currently the prod owner of 2 480s, but I have owned 3 previous. My first ever 480 was a 1989 G reg ES, it was quite tatty and badly rusted so as you can imagine I didn't stick with this on for long. After a few months with this shabby runaround (running out of fuel twice because the fuel gauge wasn't working). I bought my second 480. My 480 S, L reg with 79,000 miles on the clock seemed very reasonable. I traveled a near 600 mile round trip to get my car from Tunbridge Wells near Kent. Everything was fine with it at first until I started driving home. I sold this car on the 23/04/05 Find out more on my 480 S page
Next in line was my 480 Celebration, number 191 of 480, the very last 480s to be made in 1995 when production of the 480 ceased. This car was bough from another 480 enthusiast for £2850. I have never spent this much on a car before but can say it is money well spent. 48,000 miles with FSH makes her complete, she drives like new and looks like new, with a 2.0 engine to match. My most recent 480 is my day to day runaround/work horse my 480 ES unlike my first ES she is not a rundown rust bucket riddled with electrical problems, formally owned by a Volvo enthusiast she has been well cared for all her life with over £3000 spent on her in just 2 years, she is a smooth drive but not as smooth as my Celeb but thats a late 2.0 version of the 480 so it is bound to be a smoother drive.
After driving 480s for almost all my driving life with petrol
prices reaching 1.02 I had to decide on to either have the Celebration
converted to LPG or sell the ES and get a diesel, the diesel won, but at least I
kept within the Volvo family, indeed within the 400 series family. Yes it
had to be a 440 Turbo Diesel

I am a member of Volvo 480 Europe Club, this is probably the best club I have ever joined as I was able to meet and chat to other 480 fans and gain lots of technical info I needed to carry out repairs on my car. If you are not already a member I encourage you to join up, it is free!
